Cashman Equipment Corp., headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, was founded in 1995 as a barge rental and marine contracting company serving the oil and gas sector. From an initial fleet of 10 barges, the company now operates more than 120 vessels, including inland and ocean barges up to 400 feet, accommodation barges, and specialized oil spill recovery barges and cranes, and it owns what it says is the world’s largest fleet of ocean-going deck barges, enabling a global reach. Beyond barges, CEC provides a broad range of marine services such as marine construction and general contracting, marine transportation, project cargo support, oil spill response, marine accommodation, and salvage and wreck removal. It conducts these operations through affiliates, notably Servicio Marina Superior, which runs inland and offshore tugs up to 100 tons bollard pull, and CHM Maritime SAPI de C.V., with Mexican-flagged tugs and barges based in the Bay of Campeche. In 2019 the company expanded its sales capability with the appointment of two new Business Development Managers, Nick Crow and Richard Hastings.
