In 1890, Alfred Martin Castle—a bold, 24-year-old entrepreneur with a vision—set out to solve Chicago’s manufacturing needs. Armed with determination and a horse-drawn wagon, he delivered raw materials straight to factories and shops, cutting through the congestion of the city and laying the foundation for what would become A. M. Castle & Co.

For decades, A. M. Castle & Co. operated under the trade name “Castle Metals”—a trusted name in the metals industry. In 2023, following a merger with Banner Industries—a respected supplier and processor of specialty metals in its own right—we returned to our legacy brand and legal name, A. M. Castle & Co.
