The Catawba Brewing Co. grew out of a simple Christmas gift and the love of good beer. A beginner's home brewing kit gifted Christmas of 1994 began a passion for brewing that could only culminate in creation on a larger scale. It was only natural to take production from a few gallons to a few barrels, and The Catawba Valley Brewing Company was born in the summer of 1999. 

Catawba Brewing Co, as we are known today, is a family-owned, family-run business headquartered in the foothills town of Morganton, NC. We operate 4 facilities in western NC - the production facility/tasting room in downtown Morganton, our boutique brewery/tasting room/barrel aging facility on Asheville's South Slope, a conveniently located tasting room in Asheville's Biltmore Village, and a brewery/tasting room in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood of Charlotte that opened in May 2017. 

From the sale of our first 5 barrel batch in 1999 to the christening of our new, 30 barrel brewhouse in 2016, our mission has remained the same: 

-- Produce consistently great flagship products that are always available in our serviced areas
-- Create unique, small-batch beers inspired by our Western NC surroundings and lifestyle
-- Service our distributors and retailers with professionalism and respect
-- Educate anyone interested in craft brewing and craft beer
-- Grow a solid business that creates jobs and withstands the inevitable ups and downs of our industry

Our distribution partners market our kegs and cans throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. We enthusiastically serve our flagship and small-batch beers at our Morganton, South Slope, and Biltmore tasting rooms.
