Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is a long-established social service organization serving Washington, D.C., and surrounding Maryland counties. Founded in 1929, it operates as the social ministry outreach of the Archdiocese of Washington and provides a wide range of services to people experiencing poverty, homelessness, newcomers, individuals with developmental disabilities, teen parents, and families facing hardship. As the metropolitan region’s most comprehensive social service provider, it seeks to assist anyone who seeks help, regardless of age, race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, background, belief, or circumstance. The organization is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and serves a broad urban community with a mission focused on tangible support and advocacy for those in need. A recent development is the launch of its Corporate Advisory Council in 2026, aimed at deepening engagement with the business community to strengthen support for its mission.
