At CEGA our mission is to advance the professions of the energy geosciences - as it applies to geology; foster the scientific, technical learning and professional development of our members; and promote the awareness of the profession to industry and the public.

To accomplish this mission, the Society has established five goals:
1. Advance the scientific, technical and professional development opportunities of our members;
2. Continually apply and adapt digital communication to the dissemination of science and technology to our members;
3. Advance Geology in Canada by encouraging scientific developments as it relates to petroleum and other energy geosciences;
4. Develop a sense of pride and community for all Canadian Energy Geoscientists;
5. Advance the national recognition and prestige of the Society both within Canada and internationally.
