Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank and public policy organization affiliated with the American Institute of CPAs. It seeks to bolster investor confidence and public trust in global capital markets by promoting high-quality performance among public company auditors. The CAQ accomplishes this through collaboration with stakeholders and advocacy of policies and standards that support auditors' objectivity, effectiveness, and responsiveness to changing market conditions. It is based in Washington, D.C., and maintains a relatively small staff. Its work targets investors and the broader financial reporting ecosystem, including auditors and regulators, by influencing auditing practices and public policy. In April 2026, the governing board appointed Mark Koziel, CEO of the AICPA, as interim CEO.
