In today’s complex world, leadership isn’t about titles or hierarchy—it’s about bringing people together to tackle challenges none of us could solve alone. At the Center for Collaborative Leadership in UMass Boston’s College of Management, we’re rethinking what leadership looks like. Instead of command-and-control, we focus on connection. Instead of competition, we cultivate collaboration. And instead of isolation, we foster innovation. For over 20 years, we’ve helped leaders grow into bridge-builders—people who thrive at the intersection of business, government, and community. Our 900+ alumni are shaping a more inclusive and interconnected Boston. What this looks like in action: ✨ Through our Emerging Leaders Program, we support talented professionals on a nine-month journey that challenges them to lead with purpose, empathy, and curiosity. ⚓ With the UMass Boston–Coast Guard Academy Scholars Program, we’re preparing future security leaders to pair technical expertise with emotional intelligence—because strength without empathy leaves gaps. 🤝 And by partnering with organizations like Boston Public Library, Kraft Group, and Boston Public Schools, we’re co-creating cultures where every voice matters and shared leadership drives real change. We believe the future belongs to those who can lead with others, not over them. And we’re proud to be helping shape that future—right here in Boston and beyond.
