The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) is a Washington, DC-based organization in the philanthropic fundraising services sector. It supports disaster resilience and equitable recovery through educational resources, advisory consulting, and grantmaking, engaging with communities to broaden the reach and effectiveness of philanthropic response. Founded more than 13 years ago, CDP has established five strategic goals to guide its work, including advancing equitable recovery for marginalized communities, expanding its influence as a trusted philanthropy expert, and advancing an anti-racist organizational transformation while strengthening capacity. Its activities are directed at funders, nonprofits, and community organizations seeking evidence-informed, equity-centered disaster philanthropy practices. In early 2025, CDP announced a partnership with Truist to support disaster recovery efforts in Western North Carolina.
