The Center for Jewish History in New York City acts as a collaborative home for five partner organizations that document the modern Jewish experience outside Israel. Together, their archives cover roughly a thousand years and include more than 500,000 volumes, along with thousands of artworks, textiles, ritual objects, recordings, films, and photographs in multiple languages. Facilities such as the Lillian Goldman Reading Room, the Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute, the David Berg Rare Book Room, and the Collection Management & Conservation Wing support research, genealogy work, and preservation, while public programs help make these materials accessible to a broad audience.
