Center of the American Experiment is a Minnesota-based public policy organization that conducts research and publishes papers on topics including the state's economy, education, health care, the family, employee freedom, and governance. Beyond analysis, it develops policy proposals grounded in free enterprise, limited government, personal responsibility, and government accountability, and pursues them through drafting legislation, testifying before committees, publishing op-eds, appearing in media, hosting town meetings, and lobbying. The organization also engages in investigative reporting to uncover waste and mismanagement in state and local governments, schools, and unions, and runs grassroots campaigns to share its findings with Minnesota residents. Based in Golden Valley, Minnesota, the center has operated for more than three decades and has been a longstanding participant in the state's public policy debates. In 2025, it announced the appointment of a policy fellow focusing on education.
