The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, formerly the Reedy Creek Improvement District, is a government administration entity covering about 25,000 acres in Orange and Osceola counties near Orlando, Florida. It serves 19 landowners, including Walt Disney Co. and its wholly owned affiliates. The district includes multiple facilities and services, such as four theme parks, two water parks, one sports complex, an electric power-generating and distribution facility, a natural gas distribution system, and water and wastewater collection and treatment facilities, as well as a solid waste and recycling system, 175 lane miles of roadway, and 67 miles of waterways. The district also contains an environmental science laboratory for water quality monitoring, and supports hospitality and commerce with more than 40,000 hotel rooms and numerous restaurants and retail stores. A five-member Board of Supervisors, appointed by the Governor, governs the district, which is located at 1900 Hotel Plaza Boulevard, Orlando, Florida 32830, and employs approximately 201-500 people. Revenue is reported in the tens of millions of dollars.
