Central Texas Medical Center is a 178-bed hospital serving San Marcos, Texas, and nearby communities with a broad range of healthcare services. It originated in 1960, with the current facility opening in 1983, and it expanded in 2009 with a 64,000-square-foot Women’s Center that added all-private rooms, a Level II nursery, and a cardiac inpatient unit. The expansion also includes on-site high-risk delivery services and a customized cesarean section suite. The hospital relies on a substantial staff and collaborates with more than 220 consulting physicians to deliver care, while more than 100 community members and Texas State University interns volunteer their services. In 2020, CTMC became part of Christus Health through acquisition, aligning it with a broader health system. CTMC has earned regional recognition for clinical quality, including a Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Total Hip Replacement Certification and local accolades such as being named Best Hospital in Hays County.
