Central Valley Scholars is a community-based organization focused on creating accessible pathways to higher education for historically underserved students in the Central Valley. Led by first-generation students who identify as queer and as People of Color, the organization emphasizes critical, conscious, and realistic perspectives on how systemic oppression can shape academic trajectories, and works to foster equity through workshops, scholarships, mentorship, and specialized programming. Based in Fresno, California, CVS targets students seeking support to navigate higher education, addressing barriers and providing resources that facilitate educational advancement. The group operates within the education administration sector, positioning itself as a locally focused advocate and facilitator of opportunities for students who may lack access to traditional pathways into higher education. CVS describes its activities as a combination of educational guidance and targeted programs designed to support underserved communities in achieving their educational goals.
