Centrale Lyon is a higher education institution focused on engineering, founded in 1857 and located in Écully in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. It welcomes more than 3,000 students from around 50 nationalities across its Écully and Saint-Étienne campuses, where ENISE operates as its internal school. As part of the Centrale Group, the school maintains three international campuses and offers a range of programs for generalist and specialized engineers, as well as master's and doctoral studies. The institution's research is built on CNRS-recognised laboratories, international laboratories, global research networks, and joint laboratories with industry, enabling double degree opportunities with partners in France and abroad and fostering strategic ties with leading companies. Its work centers on the energy transition, sustainability, environment, and decarbonisation, addressing key societal challenges through education and research, and in November 2024 it was ranked 15th in France for graduate employability in the GEURS 2025 international ranking.
