Centro San Antonio is a nonprofit organization focused on placemaking in downtown San Antonio, Texas. It aims to catalyze a more beautiful, welcoming, and prosperous core that amplifies local culture, heritage, and spirit. Placemaking at Centro encompasses planning, design, and management of physical, cultural, and social identities to support the area’s ongoing evolution. The organization pursues its mission through three interrelated pillars: services that seek to keep the downtown clean and welcoming, physical improvements that create inviting spaces, and programming that celebrates and energizes the urban environment. In May 2026, Centro San Antonio announced a partnership with ELERTS Corporation to pilot the See Say platform, an app that connects users with Centro Ambassador headquarters in real time to improve downtown safety and connectivity. Based in downtown San Antonio, the nonprofit operates with a relatively small staff and has pursued other initiatives, including a downtown electric shuttle service launched in 2024 in collaboration with UTSA, VIA Metropolitan Transit and the City of San Antonio.
