At Channel 3 Kids Camp we believe ALL children deserve a Kids Camp experience! We are working to build opportunities for children that cannot afford a camp experience and give children that have special needs and challenges the chance to come to camp. Our mission is to provide fun year-round opportunities to children of all abilities, families, and communities through educational and recreational programs that promote diversity, acceptance, and environmental appreciation. Each year over 3,000 children from throughout Connecticut attend the Channel 3 Kids Camp. While at camp, children enjoy a real escape to the country and participate in recreational and educational activities that promote and build friendship, leadership skills, self-confidence, and foster an appreciation for the outdoors. Activities range from swim lessons, archery, ropes courses, and rock climbing to computers, performing arts, crafts and gardening. While the core of our program will always be our traditional summer overnight and day camp offerings, Channel 3 Kids Camp also offers a year-round, on-site child care center, a teen leadership program, respite weekends, school vacation camps and welcomes weekend groups. The camp also partners with organizations including the Epilepsy Foundation, American Academy of Dermatology, Bureau of Education, and Services for the Blind. The Department of Children & Families sponsors Sibling Connections week, a free overnight camp week that reunites siblings who are separated in the foster system. Channel 3 Kids Camp is a 501(c) 3 organization and could not continue these programs without financial help from grants, foundations, corporate sponsorships, public support, and individual donations.
