The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is a nonprofit organization focused on reducing hunger and improving nutrition in its 20-county service area spanning Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. It acquires and distributes healthy food through a network of more than 300 partner agencies. The organization was founded in 1972 and renamed in 1983, establishing a long-standing presence in the community. In the most recent year, it distributed more than 15.1 million pounds of food, equal to about 12.6 million meals, and served over 25,000 people each week.
