Based in Otjiwarongo, Otjozondjupa Namibia, Cheetah Conservation Fund is an international non-profit focused on the research and conservation of cheetahs, with a field base in Somaliland. Founded in 1990, it operates across Namibia and maintains partnerships in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom to advance its work. The organization emphasizes that most wild cheetahs live outside protected areas and pursues integrated programs designed to protect cheetahs while considering the welfare of nearby human populations, with demonstrated success in stabilizing and increasing Namibia's wild cheetah population. CCF works with researchers and partner organizations across multiple countries to advance cheetah conservation on landscapes shared with humans. A notable development is the expansion of its operations to Somaliland in 2022 to care for cheetahs rescued from the illegal wildlife pet trade, reflecting its cross-border conservation approach.
