Cherokee Youth Football Association is a great place to come and play. We offer Football and Cheer programs that are feeder teams into each of the high schools of Cherokee County. That is why you see the school colors and team logos on this site. We are divided into the following age groups:

6/7 • 8/9 • 10/11 • 12/13

In this league there are football player weight limits; however, every child can still play within their own age group. The weight limit for 6/7 year olds is 75lbs. The weight limit for 8/9 year olds is 100lbs. The weight limit for 10/11 year olds is 125lbs. The 12 /13 year old division has no weight limit. There are two weigh-ins during the season; one before the jamboree, and one midway through the season. Each age group receives 5 lbs added to the weight limit at mid-season. If a child doesn't make weight, they do not have to play up. The child will become "red striped". This means that they will get a red stripe put on their helmet, and they can only play on the offensive and defensive lines in-between the tackles and the kick return team. A red striped player may not carry the ball. If a “red striper” makes weight at the halfway point of the season - he will lose the red stripe and all restrictions.

The season starts with a week of conditioning practice the last week of July. The first games will be on the last Saturday in August - Labor Day Weekend (Aug 29), and there will be a Jamboree in mid-August (Aug 15). There are eight regular season games, and three weeks of playoffs. We will take the second Saturday (Sept 19) off during the Cherokee County School System’s Fall Break. Equipment will be issued in July and equipment deposits ($100) will be required then. You will be notified when to come to pick up equipment.

We are offering a variety of Football camps this year and offer a Cheer camp as well.

We look forward to seeing you this year!
