Chesapeake was founded by Jerry Parker to provide investment and portfolio management services to both private and institutional investors worldwide. Mr. Parker began his money management career in 1983 as a member of a group that became known as the “Turtles”. The “Turtles”, a group of individuals from a variety of backgrounds, were recruited by a Chicago money manager in a program that attempted to prove that investment management success could be achieved by applying a rule-based, quantitative investment philosophy to a global portfolio of futures markets. Mr. Parker's participation in this program led to the creation of Chesapeake Capital Corporation in February 1988.
