The Chicago Cultural Alliance is a nonprofit consortium that connects and supports a network of cultural heritage museums, centers, and historical societies across Chicago’s 28 neighborhoods and seven suburbs. Its aim is to promote a more inclusive city by enabling cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration among its member institutions, which together represent a diverse array of cultures from around the world. The Alliance serves as a bridge between Core Members and Partners, helping them build capacity in administration, strategy, and community-driven engagement to advance shared goals of equity and cultural representation within the region. Based in Chicago, Illinois, the organization has formed since its origins in 1998 as the Cultural Connections program at The Field Museum and formally established the Alliance in 2008, continuing to operate as a collaborative network rather than a loose association.
