At Chicago Voyagers, our mission is to empower at-risk youth through outdoor experiential adventures that foster healthy relationships and responsible behavior. Through our unique programs, we expose youth to the natural world, expanding their understanding of what is possible. We focus on serving adolescents living in greater Chicago’s highest-need communities.

We provide evidence-based experiential outdoor adventure programming in partnership with more than 25 area schools and community organizations. Our adventure-therapy programs are offered year-round and include hiking and backpacking, overnight camping, canoeing, mountain biking, and more. Each of our programs uses a multi-faceted, neuroscience-based approach to prevent or diminish the impact of trauma. Programs, including equipment and clothing, are free to participants.

We help young people find and develop the skills needed to gain confidence, improve communication, and develop emotional regulation. Ultimately, our programs cultivate a resilient, positive, problem-solving attitude, helping young people find the strength needed to overcome the challenges in their lives.
