Chicago Youth Programs (CYP) is a Chicago-based nonprofit founded in 1984 by Northwestern University medical students, focused on improving health and life opportunities for at-risk youth through a comprehensive development framework. It operates more than 30 programs for youth from birth to 25, targeting underserved Chicago neighborhoods such as Near North/Cabrini Green, Washington Park, North Lawndale, and Uptown. All programs are offered at no cost and transportation is provided to remove barriers associated with poverty and limited after-school options, enabling participation across educational and developmental stages. The organization provides a broad range of services—literacy, tutoring, mentoring, recreation, arts, leadership development, college preparation, scholarships, and job readiness—supporting youth through college and into adulthood. In October 2024, CYP announced a partnership with Insight Out Therapy & Wellness to expand mental health support, reflecting a broader focus on holistic well-being. The organization is based in Chicago, Midwest.
