The Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles is a nonprofit collaboration of 10 member agencies serving communities across Los Angeles County for more than four decades. Formed in 1997, the alliance coordinates efforts to provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible early care and education for families. The member agencies are community-rooted and culturally competent, maintaining extensive ties to a broad network of local early childhood education providers. Based in Pasadena, California, CCALA administers publicly funded child care subsidies and oversees about 37,000 referral requests and 28,000 inquiries about early care resources each year. In recent years it has pursued partnerships to expand access to care, including collaborations with SEIU Local 99 in 2021 and a CARES Act funded initiative with Los Angeles County's Department of Public Health Office for the Advancement of Early Care and Education in 2020.
