The Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County, based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, is a nonprofit organization serving more than 1,800 children and their families each year across 38 suburban communities. It provides coordinated forensic interviewing, trauma-informed counseling, court advocacy, and other support services for children who have experienced sexual or severe physical abuse, operating within a multidisciplinary framework that streamlines resources for families and the community. CAC is a fully accredited member of the National Children's Alliance and offers all services free of charge. Its mission centers on empowering children to overcome trauma through empathetic collaboration and culturally sensitive services for victims and their families. In January 2022, CAC was recognized as one of six nationwide winners in a national drawing.
