The Children's Museum of Eastern Oregon is a not-for-profit play place, dedicated to offering an on-going and wide range of theme-oriented, hands-on educational exhibits and activities for children of all ages. CMEO is the ONLY children’s museum in all of Eastern Oregon making it a unique community resource for early childhood education and development. CMEO has a high impact on many children and families because it is the only facility of its kind in our region. With over 14,000 visitors a year and over 150 annual memberships, many families, childcare providers, school districts, and educators in our community and throughout the region enjoy and depend on CMEO to provide them with a safe, fun, and educational place for children. There are currently 14 hands-on exhibits for children to enjoy at CMEO. In addition to the exhibits, CMEO provides many learning opportunities for children through educational programming including classes, camps, and weekly events. In rural Eastern Oregon, there is a lack of family oriented places for educational development and interactive play that are more commonly found in urban areas. In addition, due to school cuts, many enrichment activities have been eliminated from our region’s school districts. As the only facility of its kind in our region, CMEO bridges this gap through our educational activities, events and exhibits. CMEO provides Eastern Oregon with educational opportunities that enrich and strengthen children and families.
