Choice Companies, founded in 1976, began as a retail flooring store in Prince Georges County, Maryland, by Glenn Walker and Kenneth Cleaver. It has since grown into two distinct entities, Choice Floors and Choice Stairways, focusing on flooring products and the manufacture of stairs and rails. Its customers include retail clients, residential builders, commercial contractors, and multi-family developers, with projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2021 the company relocated its headquarters to Largo, Maryland, and expanded its footprint to include an 80,000-square-foot manufacturing plant for Choice Stairways and a 10,000-square-foot flagship showroom for Choice Floors. Choice Floors maintains a second showroom in Owings, Maryland, and together the entities employ more than 100 people across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
