For 80 years, Christian Aid has been providing relief to those affected by disaster, helping people out of poverty and speaking out against injustice. Christian Aid Ireland is an international aid and development agency that insists the world can, and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. We work globally for profound change, striving to eradicate poverty and achieve equality, dignity and freedom for all, regardless of faith or nationality. We know that tackling the symptoms of poverty is not enough. To end poverty we need to challenge and change the political, economic and social structures that keep people poor. Our work is carried out through local partner organisations on the ground that are best placed to understand both the causes of poverty in their communities and how to fight it.
