Citadel Theatre Company is a professional, equity, not-for-profit theatre based in Lake Forest, Illinois, just north of Chicago. It presents a varied repertoire that includes dramas, comedies, new and innovative works, and both contemporary and classical selections. The company gathers professionals from across theatre disciplines to create work that is emotionally and intellectually engaging.

Education is an integral part of its offerings, with classes for children that cover theatre games, improvisation, voice development, character work, scene study and movement. The Academy, in collaboration with the Lake Forest Dance Academy, provides opportunities for students to audition for a Triple Threat Performance Ensemble, alongside adult classes focusing on auditioning, monologue work, and scene study. In November 2021, Citadel Theatre Company launched an online initiative called 50/50 in collaboration with other organizations.
