Citadel is a United States-based music act that has been recording and performing an original blend of folk, rock, and progressive metal since 1979, drawing on influences from jazz, classical, and world music. The project has a history of independent production, releasing its first self-produced album in 1979 and later expanding into music, video, and literary works that reach audiences worldwide. While the lineup has evolved over time, the group maintains a focus on boundary-pushing and cross-genre exploration through both concept albums and standalone songs. The act co-founded ProgFest in 1993, illustrating deep involvement in the broader progressive music community.

Based in the United States and operating under a registered tradename, Citadel distributes its material across major platforms such as SoundCloud, BandCamp, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and YouTube, enabling global access to its work. The organization also provides services related to product development, production, live shows, and creative disciplines like graphics and photography, inviting inquiries for concept-to-finished-product projects.
