City Central Church is a community of men and women passionately pursuing Jesus Christ in Tacoma, Washington. We are dedicated to a simple mission: Adore God, become like Jesus and contend for His Kingdom. Our purpose is to glorify God and call the next generation into a relationship with Jesus. We aim to do this by pouring God's truth and love into our children, raising up devoted, set-apart youth and training young adults to fulfill their individual callings in the Lord. We believe that God moves mightily through prayer. We hold fast to the Gospel message that promises new life in Jesus Christ. We trust that once we begin to follow Jesus, He wants to unfold his original design and purpose for our lives, call each of us into the works He has prepared beforehand and restore us from brokenness — all that we might carry out His divine will for our lives and experience fullness of joy. Worship is a central focus of our gatherings. Sunday mornings at City Central Church are a celebration of Christ's redeeming love, and messages from the pulpit find their foundation in Biblical truth as Lead Pastor Chris Hippe teaches, encourages, exhorts and calls the church body into deeper intimacy with Jesus. During the week, Life Groups meet all over the community at various times to provide a place for City Central attenders to build deeper relationships. On Wednesday nights, we gather for prayer and worship, study classes for adults, Legacy Youth mid-week discipleship and Kids Discipleship. We have Encounter on Tuesday nights for young adults where worship and small groups take place. Freedom Immersions are 3-day courses offered each quarter for church members and out-of-town visitors seeking to experience a greater level of restoration, healing and abundance in Christ.
