City College Norwich was first established as a technical school in 1891. In 2016 the college celebrates 125 years of providing its local community and the employers of Norfolk with excellence in vocational education and training, including apprenticeships, as well as academic, professional and higher education courses. Today the college has over 10,000 full- and part-time students. Rated as Good by Ofsted, City College Norwich provides excellent preparation for students' career development and progression – including a strong focus on entrepreneurial skills as a founder member of the Gazelle Group of Colleges. The College’s main campus is on Ipswich Road, just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre, and has benefitted from substantial investment in new buildings and facilities in recent years, including its innovative StartUp Lounge, a new Creative Arts Building, and the development of a green heart to the campus based around Broadland Drive. The Ipswich Road site is also home to its fine-dining Debut Restaurant, Solutions Hair and Beauty Salons, Platform Theatre and a gym, which are all open to the public. The College’s higher education students are based at Norfolk House and St Andrews House in the centre of Norwich.
