Located in Los Angeles County, the City of Alhambra operates as a full-service municipal government under a Council-City Manager system. Incorporated in 1903 and chartered in 1915, the city provides a wide range of public amenities, including four major parks, a public library, and an 18-hole municipal golf course, along with theaters, shopping districts, and established business and industrial areas. In March 2024 the city announced a collaboration with OCOBIA to develop additional training materials for BIA board members, addressing matters such as procedure bylaws, meeting procedures, and human-resource management for BIA staff.
