WHERE IS AMERICAN CANYON?
The City of American Canyon, with its picturesque backdrop of rural rolling agricultural hills, is located in southern Napa County. This is the SF Bay Area’s entry point to the Napa and Sonoma Valley wineries, areas internationally recognized for producing some of the world's finest wines. 

American Canyon is located approximately 40 miles northeast of San Francisco. We are within proximity of some of the finest institutions, such as the University of California (U.C.) campuses at Berkeley (30 miles), San Francisco (42 miles) and Davis (41 miles); and within close proximity to Tuoro University (8 miles).  We are conveniently located 42 miles from the Oakland International Airport (OAK), 50 miles from the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and 60 miles from the Sacramento International Airport (SMF).

The City of American Canyon is a destination for outdoor recreation and natural beauty. Whether you seek running, walking, hiking, biking, bird watching or horseback riding opportunities, you can find it here. The City has more than 70 acres of developed parkland, ranging from tot lots to a 20 acre community park. The City owns a large open space on its western edge that has been restored as tidal wetlands and also a 640 acre preserve on the eastern edge of town known as Newell Open Space. Segments of three significant trail systems run through American Canyon; the San Francisco Bay Trail, the Bay Area Ridge Trail and the Napa Valley Vine Trail. The City also operates and maintains four recreational facilities; a Community Center, a Senior Multi-Use Center, a Recreation Center, and the Phillip West Aquatics Center.
