Located on Boston’s north-west border, the City of Everett, MA is experiencing unprecedented new development and economic growth. As the pace of redevelopment accelerates, Everett endeavors to become a more walk-able, transit-friendly, and mixed-use community. Focused on downtown revitalization, Everett is working to attract new and retain existing businesses, encourage mixed-use development, improve circulation for pedestrians, vehicles, and public transit, enhance the visitor experience for business customers, and strengthen the quality of life for residents. Development and business is booming. Since 2012 there have been 3.5 million square feet of new development. In 2018, over a 100 acres of industrial area, known as the Commercial Triangle, was up-zoned to encourage mixed-use, high density development. Two Urban Renewal Plans are underway to focus redevelopment efforts in Everett Square and the Commercial Triangle and over 1,000 units of housing has been approved. These redevelopment areas also lie within State designated Opportunity Zones. Location is everything. And Everett has it. The City is located just 4 miles to downtown Boston and 4 miles to Boston Logan International Airport. There is direct public transit access to Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and Boston's Seaport and close proximity to major transit corridors: I-90, I-93, and Route 1. With over 46,000 residents in 3.2 square miles, Everett is one of the densest and most diverse communities in the Commonwealth. Our economic strength is fueled by our diversity and major employment sectors: hospitality, education/health, finance, construction and the trades. Though there are many important issues that the City of Everett is actively working on, this page is especially focused on business, real estate and economic development in Everett. We are open for business. Let's talk. www.facebook.com/cityofeverettma/ Instagram: @cityofeverettma
