Located on Boston's north-west border, the City of Everett, Massachusetts operates as a municipal government focused on downtown revitalization and creating a walkable, transit-friendly, mixed-use community. It aims to attract and retain businesses, promote mixed-use development, and improve circulation for pedestrians, vehicles, and public transit while enhancing the visitor experience and residents’ quality of life. Since 2012, the city has welcomed 3.5 million square feet of new development, with two Urban Renewal Plans advancing Everett Square and the Commercial Triangle and more than 1,000 housing units approved. Everett is located four miles from downtown Boston and four miles from Logan International Airport, with direct transit access to Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and the Seaport and proximity to major corridors. The city covers 3.2 square miles and has about 46,000 residents, making it among the Commonwealth’s densest and most diverse communities with major employment in hospitality, education/health, finance, construction, and trades. As a mid-sized municipal government, it is actively engaging local businesses through events such as the Opportunity Fair planned for May 2026 to connect firms with public contracting resources.
