City Of Madeira is the municipal government serving the residents and businesses of Madeira, Ohio. Incorporated in 1910, the City of Madeira is one of the premier communities in Greater Cincinnati. Originally developed along the railroad line between Cincinnati and Parkersburg, West Virginia, Madeira remains in close proximity to other parts of the Tri-State. With its hometown feel and terrific location—approximately 12 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati with convenient access from Interstate 71—Madeira is known for its well-maintained properties and vibrant central business district where visitors and residents can shop and dine. Governed by a seven resident member City Council and led by an appointed professional City Manager, the City of Madeira strives to provide high quality services for community residents and businesses. The City provides the following services and more: -24/7 Police Protection via the Madeira Police Department -Contracted Fire Protection via the Madeira-Indian Hill Joint Fire District -Public Works services including 60+ lane miles of street maintenance, facility, stormwater, and ROW maintenance. -Parks and Recreation services via three city parks (McDonald Commons, Sellman, and Hosbrook Sanctuary) and programming via the Madeira Parks and Recreation Board. -Contracted trash, recycling, and health district services. -In-house Building Department including plan reviews/inspections.
