The City of Ojai follows a City Council - City Manager model of government, with the five-member elected City Council appointing a City Manager who serves the City Council by contract. Ojai's City Council is advised by four Commissions Arts Commission The Arts Commission acts as an advisor to the City Council on all matters pertaining to the arts. Historic Preservation Commission The Historic Preservation Commission makes recommendations to the City Council and Planning Commission regarding the protection of historic landmarks, property and structures in the City. Parks and Recreation Commission The Parks and Recreation Commission reflects the desires of the community to care for and develop its parks and recreation facilities and programs. Planning Commission The Planning Commission acts in an advisory capacityto the City Council to make sure future developments are congruous with the vision of City leaders and citizens. Ojai's City Council, commissioners and staff strive to maintain a high quality of life for all Ojai residents through exceptional community-based programs, support of the arts and cultural activities, and strong community involvement.
