The City of Port Phillip is a local government council in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was formed in 1994 through the merger of the former cities of Port Melbourne, South Melbourne and St Kilda. The council serves a collection of neighborhoods including St Kilda, Elwood, South Melbourne, Windsor, Ripponlea, Balaclava, St Kilda East, Port Melbourne, Albert Park and Middle Park, and it acknowledges the Kulin Nations as the traditional owners. The council engages in cultural and community initiatives, such as participating in Melbourne Design Week with events at St Kilda Town Hall that highlight local architecture, urban design and sustainability, and it hosts a Reconciliation Week Flag Raising Ceremony. In 2026 it formed a partnership with the Australian Government to expand the Port Phillip Public Place CCTV program, aimed at enhancing safety and security for residents and local businesses.
