Soldotna is located in Southcentral Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula.  The city sits along the banks of the world-renowned Kenai River, famous for its sportfishing and outdoor recreational opportunities.  Around 4,200 residents live within the city's 7.4 square mile footprint, and Soldotna serves as a service, retail, educational, and recreational hub for the broader region of approximately 45,000 residents.
