Civic Builders is a nonprofit organization focused on supporting high-quality public charter schools through real estate development, lending, and strategic advisory services. Based in New York City, the group aims to remove real estate as a barrier to access to permanent facilities, enabling public charter schools to operate in environments that support student learning and neighborhood revitalization. Its work targets charter schools and related education programs, offering a combination of real estate development, financial products, and strategic guidance to address facility-related challenges and expand access to affordable, stable facilities. In addition to its primary activities, Civic Builders has pursued partnerships and collaborations, such as recent arrangements with The Walton Family Foundation and with Community School of the Arts, to advance facility projects for charter schools. The organization operates within the civic and social organizations sector and serves communities nationwide with a mission to support high-performing charter schools and the communities they serve.
