Classical Revolution is a small nonprofit organization that presents live classical music performances in non-traditional venues such as bars, cafés, and art galleries. Founded in November 2006 at Revolution Cafe in San Francisco's Mission District, it has since hosted hundreds of events in the Bay Area, many of them free and open to the public. The organization draws on a diverse pool of musicians—from local freelancers and students to professional orchestral and chamber players—and is fiscally sponsored by the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music.
Its concept has expanded beyond its origin to more than 30 chapters across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Indonesia. In 2018, the Napa Valley Symphony partnered with Classical Revolution to co-create events in schools and wine bars.
