Our Mission CLAWS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that uses the civil justice system to bring pro bono lawsuits on behalf of survivors of sex slavery. Our goal is to empower victims, take economic resources away from those who are benefiting from trafficking, and raise awareness among the public. Educate Legislate Litigate Our Legal Services CLAWS engages in targeted civil litigation against sex traffickers and all facilitators of sexual harm. We advocate for the appropriate and effective criminal prosecution of perpetrators. We also advocate for public policies that increase the enforcement and efficacy of criminal and civil laws pertaining to sexual violence and exploitation. Policy And Advocacy CLAWS provides expert consultation for legislative and policy reforms that will increase legal and social accountability for perpetrators of harm. That means we specifically target sex traffickers, people who buy sex, venues, and those who commit sexual assault. We also promote broad community support for services and resources for survivors. CLAWS advises law enforcement, policy makers, and other stakeholders on best practices relating to the disruption of modern sex slavery.
