Clean Cities-Georgia functions as Georgia's central coordinating point for alternative fuel vehicle activities within the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities Program. The coalition advances local efforts to reduce petroleum use in transportation, aligning with the national aim to improve energy, economic, and environmental security. As the first Clean Cities coalition, it was officially designated in 1993 and operates from Atlanta, Georgia.

The organization is small and focuses on coordinating AFV-related work across Georgia, engaging fleets, policymakers, and other stakeholders involved in transportation and energy. In May 2024, Clean Cities-Georgia partnered with Drawdown Georgia to host a webinar on the Electric Black Futures project across Albany, Atlanta, and Savannah.
