OUR PROGRAM The Clinical Epidemiology Program at the White River Junction VA Medical Center is a dedicated research group that cultivates collaborative projects to advance patient-centered research derived from Veterans Health Administration (VHA) data in an efficient and effective manner. Our goal is to improve the health of and healthcare provided to our Veterans through the dissemination of actionable information. OUR PEOPLE Our team is comprised of epidemiologists, statisticians and analysts, with support from clinical subject matter experts. Led by epidemiologist and statistician Dr. Yinong Young-Xu, we partner with industry sponsors and federal offices to provide methodological and statistical expertise for study design and data analysis, robust programming support to compile analytic datasets, and rigorous validation to ensure specifications address a study’s objective while maintaining the safety and security of our data sources. We collaborate with our local regulatory bodies to obtain approval for these research projects to uphold their scientific integrity and commitment to the protection of human subjects. Our current portfolio of work includes: • Infectious disease prevention & treatment • Drug / vaccine / medical device utilization and safety • Cancer treatment and outcomes • Mental health treatment and outcomes
