Cloverbelt Credit Union is a financial services organization operating as a credit union based in Wausau, Wisconsin. It was organized in the 1930s by local farmers seeking borrowing and savings facilities, with Articles of Incorporation signed on October 23, 1935 and opening for business on January 2, 1936; at startup it had 38 members and assets of $454. Initially serving primarily farmers, membership expanded in 1939 when the Cloverbelt Cooperative entered the fuel oil business, enabling city customers to join. Today, membership is open to anyone who lives or works in Marathon, Lincoln, Wood, Portage, Clark, Langlade, Shawano and Taylor counties, and the organization has grown to more than 17,000 members and between 11 and 50 employees.
