CME Federal Credit Union is a mid-sized financial institution based in Columbus, Ohio, founded in 1935 by the City of Columbus Firefighters. It began by serving firefighters and police personnel and gradually expanded to municipal employees in Franklin County; in 2014 it obtained a community charter that broadened eligibility to individuals who live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in eight central Ohio counties. Today, the credit union serves more than 32,000 members.
