The first CNW branch commenced business in 1952 at Stanley Street in East Brisbane. The three owners, whose surnames were Cameron, Nielsen and Walters (hence CNW), started the venture with the financial backing of two well known local businessmen, Tom Messinbird and Leo Catt. In 1982 CNW joined the BGW Group and since then the company has expanded to be one of the largest 100% Australian owned electrical wholesalers.

Looking after Australia’s own is not only our motto in business, but in the wider community as well. CNW is an Australian company that believes in supporting Australians at the grass roots level. Whether its jerseys for the local football team or helping future Olympians realise their dream, CNW is there to help when it really counts.
