Co-op Atlantic is a wholesale cooperative based in Moncton, New Brunswick. It is the second-largest regional co-operative wholesaler in Canada and the largest co-operative in Atlantic Canada, owned by more than 100 member-owned businesses across the Atlantic Provinces and the Magdalen Islands. The organization provides a mix of food, agricultural, energy, and social housing and real estate services to organizations and businesses in more than 150 communities in the region. Through its wholesale operations, it coordinates procurement and shared services for its member network, supporting a regional ecosystem of retail and service activity. Historically, the cooperative has undergone changes in its asset structure; in May 2015 it sold its wholesale food division to Sobeys, with reports that Sobeys would supply all Co-op Atlantic stores in Atlantic Canada, including eight member-owned stores in Newfoundland and Labrador. This development reflects a shift in the company's role within Atlantic Canada's cooperative and grocery landscape while the network remains owned by member businesses across the region.
