The Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD) is a place-based nonprofit organization focused on revitalizing South Los Angeles through coordinated planning, development, and services for low-income and working-class residents and small businesses. Its work centers on three program areas—workforce development for adults and youth, housing and support services, and entrepreneur and small business services—developed alongside the goal of creating affordable and permanent supportive housing. Founded in 2005 by local residents and leaders, CRCD operates as a community development corporation that builds coalitions with residents and stakeholders to sustain economic vitality and improve quality of life in the community.
