Coastal Gateway Regional Economic Development Alliance is a small nonprofit partnership serving five Alabama counties: Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, and Monroe. Based in Monroeville, the organization concentrates on highlighting the region’s assets to support growth across the area. Its mission includes elevating the region’s profile as a destination in the Southeast, promoting retention and expansion of existing businesses to broaden income potential, and developing a planning and development framework to address county-wide issues. In addition, CGEDA seeks to facilitate entrepreneurial opportunities through a flexible resource fund and to foster regional networking and seed capital for initiatives. The alliance works through collaboration with local chambers of commerce, county economic development authorities, industrial development boards, and city and county governments.
